Wrightington Hospital has a Patient Information Centre based in the main Reception Area. Funded by the John Charnley Trust and Depuy International Ltd it was officially opened by Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff in 2006. The centre contains visual and general information that explain the various stages of the "patient pathway" from diagnosis of arthritis through anaesthetics and surgery, post-operative care and out-patient follow-up.
